Ter e possuir — os dois jeitos.

🔑 A grande sacada

Pra dizer que você tem algo, have e have got significam a mesma coisa. I have a car = I've got a car.

I have two brothers. = I've got two brothers.
Tenho dois irmãos.
She has blue eyes. = She's got blue eyes.
Ela tem olhos azuis. (he/she/it → has / 's got)

Do you have a pen? · Have you got a pen?

Você tem uma caneta?

I don't have time. · I haven't got time.

Não tenho tempo.

have got serve pra ter/possuir. Pra ações (café da manhã, banho, festa) é só have: have breakfast, nunca "have got breakfast".

✗ She have a dog.

✓ She has a dog. · She's got a dog.

✗ You have a car? (sem auxiliar)

✓ Do you have a car? · Have you got a car?

✗ I've got breakfast at 8.

✓ I have breakfast at 8. (ação, não posse)
