"Apesar de" e "embora" — o contraste inesperado.

although / even though vêm com uma frase (sujeito + verbo). despite / in spite of vêm com substantivo ou verbo+ing.
// mesma ideia, duas estruturas
Although it was raining, we went out.
Embora estivesse chovendo, a gente saiu. (+ frase)
Despite the rain, we went out.
Apesar da chuva, a gente saiu. (+ substantivo)
In spite of being tired, she kept going.
Apesar de estar cansada, ela continuou. (+ verbo-ing)
💡 "Despite of" não existe
É despite (sem "of") ou in spite of (com "of"). Misturar os dois é o erro nº 1.
